Like every other American family, New York City mayor Bill de Blasio and his fam will vacation for 10 days in Italy, beginning next week.
Really – doesn’t everybody do that? We wouldn’t know – we don’t have progressive privilege.
The New York Times reports:
Mayor Bill de Blasio promised to be a very different sort of leader from his predecessors in City Hall.
One way he will be doing that: by taking a 10-day vacation.
In what could amount to the lengthiest out-of-town trip taken by a New York City mayor in recent memory, Mr. de Blasio and his family are set to depart next Friday for Italy, where they will visit the ancestral villages of his grandparents and tour Rome, Naples and Venice.
The city’s first family, which prides itself on its down-home image, has also made time for a jaunt to Capri, the glittering island that is a global byword for glamour.
